Septime Webre’s Peter Pan

Alberta Ballet Campaign

Poster for Septime Webre’s ballet inspired by the 1911 play written by J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan. The poster pays homage to the original book cover of the same name, published during the Arts and Crafts movement.

The ”Pointé”, a very well-known ballet position, was chosen for the cover because of its delicate yet powerful presence. Wanting to incorporate nostalgia and reconnaissance, within the vines are the main characters’ recognizable traits: Tinker Bell’s wings, Peter Pan’s dagger, John’s umbrella, Wendy’s bow, and Captain Hook’s hook.
